Mora Aar Jonome

We were a pair of swan
At the bank of the river
In our last birth
We came back to this earth
On this very soil
Soaked with love
From our last union

You embraced me
Like the vine
Laden with fragrant
Of nameless yellow flower
Like a champak ivy
Clinging to the
The chest of a huge
Tamal tree
I can still feel that bondage
Which left its mark
In every crevice
Of my heart

It seems you still
Holding me
In your arms
The same way
Like a untamed creeper
In a stormy night
Clinging hard
To its tree

Like a pair
Of undomesticated bird
We lived our life
Entwined in our wings
In our cozy nest Near the lake, sparkling
Like the eye
Of a bird
Until the ruthless hunter
Took one of our lives
In his brutal arrow

We were a pair of swan
At the bank of the river
In our last birth
We came back to this earth
On this very soil
Soaked with love
From our last union
